Keep your voice firm and level when delivering commands to your dog. An authoritarian tone informs your dog he is expected to obey. It can also help the dog realize the distinction between disciplinary tones and other types of commands.

“Leave it” is a command that should be taught and reinforced early on. You can protect their safety and stop them from destroying valuables by teaching them to obey this simple command.
