Doing this will cause your dog to act out even more and lose respect for you. Be positive, firm and consistent to get great results while you train your dog.

When housebreaking your puppy, accidents will happen. Any accidents should be cleaned up as soon as possible to help with the training efforts. You pet will smell the urine and try to urinate there again. There are many products on the market that can help with this, so check with your local pet shop.

Watch the number of treats you give your dog during the day to avoid making your dog overweight. The number of treats a dog gets during training can rack up pretty quickly, and a lot of owners overlook this part of their canine's diet.
