Awesome Canine Training Tips From The Professionals!

No dog should ever end up in a shelter because of bad behavior! The truth is that a bad owner who didn't train them is to blame. It is possible for a dog that is trained well to become a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted family member. A little bit of time, patience and repetition are all it takes to turn your dog into a more respectful companion.

Do not tie a couple of dogs closely together. One dog's chain might become entangled with the other, which could lead to serious injuries. If the dogs are different sizes, it could be even worse. A small dog could easily choke to death if it were to get too tangled up with a larger breed.

Teach your pet the proper way to walk on a leash. This will assure that the two of you are safe when you are out on walks.

Start training with something simple. Not only does this give you a feeling of satisfaction in your success, but your dog also learns about what an acceptable behavior is. Your training will become more productive.

Among the initial commands a dog should learn is “leave it,” which instructs the dog to drop whatever it has and step away from it. It ensures they don't eat food they shouldn't, chew on items not intended to be chewed on or even pick up dangerous or poisonous items in their mouth.

You indicate that jumping up is an unacceptable behavior by grabbing the dogs paws, squeezing gently and guiding them back down to the ground. While this will not seriously hurt the animal, it is certainly unpleasant and therefore makes a powerful statement. They will quickly learn to avoid doing it in order to avoid the sensation.

Using various voice tones for various purposes is a great way to train a dog. Giving a command or correcting a negative behavior requires an authoritative tone, while praise can be softer. Keep your commands short and sharp while corrections should be louder.

Your training your dog program should incorporate at least a little fun. Keep training to a short 10-15 minute session; much longer and your dog's attention will wander. Keep your rewards coming and vary what you give them. When your dog does a good job, shower him with praise. This will make training and listening pleasurable for your dog.

As it was stated previously, having a well-behaved and happy dog in your family is very possible. It's your job to train them to get them to that state. Abide by the advice above and you are on your way to owning a happy pet.
