When you're working on training you dog, you must always try to teach it how to know that it's their home. Leave food near or inside the crate and leave the door open. The dog will recognize the crate as having delicious food.
Make sure that you set a calm tone whenever you set foot in a room where your dog is. Play time is great, but your dog needs to learn to stay calm as his master enters the room. If you do not recognize them right away, they will be more calm.
Be careful of disrupting your training time with rewards. Once your dog follows your command, reward his behavior. Though you might be satisfied with this type of accomplishment, excitement may lead to your pet having diminished control over the situation. Set a good example by rewarding them calmly.
Excess Energy
Be sure to keep your dog active and engaged a great deal of the time. Just like humans, dogs can become bored easily. A dog without interest in what you're doing is more difficult to train. Keeping your dog exercised and happy will help them pay attention more due to releasing all excess energy that often distracts them from your commands. A long walk or a brisk run are great ways to get rid of some of your dog's excess energy.
Stay very consistent and persistent when starting your crate training regimen. When your puppy gets out of its crate, you need to give it the occasion to relieve itself right away. With time, your puppy will wait for the right tine to relieve himself.
“Leave It!” should be one of the first commands that a puppy learns. This command instructs them to release an object and walk away. This is great if the dog chews on household furniture or other items, such as shoes, stuffed animals, or trash.
You can keep a dog from barking by teaching it an order that means they should be silent. When your dog barks, show them a treat and repeat the order, for instance, ‘be quiet' until it stops barking. Then, you can give your pet the treat. If you repeat this long enough, your dog will associate the treat and then the order with being quiet.
Pay strict attention to your body language and tone of voice anytime you are training a pet. Dogs are very empathic to their trainer's emotions. An appropriately stern tone can reinforce discipline.
Accidents are a part of training your puppy to go potty outside. Get rid of accidents immediately to improve training efficiency. Urine and feces scents can attack to the fibers of your carpet, which will lead to your dog repeatedly using the bathroom in that spot. Check any local stores or pet shops for products that are specifically designed to remove the urine smell from a carpet.
By this point, you should be beyond excited at the prospect of working more closely with your beloved pet. Remain patient and reward your pet when he behaves properly. Some of the advice may be a challenge, but it will be worth it.
