Keeping your dog inside all day can be challenging if your dog is not trained to respect your belongings. He's urinating on the rug and destroying your furnishings, and it's all because you didn't train him. Thankfully, you can read more below to get your dog trained right.

Try to see things from your dog's eyes. It's easy to get irritated with them when they aren't learning the basics quickly or even at all. Rather than abandoning the training, consider what the dog might be thinking. Consider how it would be to see the world in their eyes. Doing this will give you a completely different perspective, which should help you in training them.

Chew Toys

Make sure your teething puppy has a bunch of chew toys readily available to him, and keep other things he likes to chew on away from him. Immediately replace it with one of his designated chew toys. To help your dog cope with painful teething, give him a wet washcloth that has been frozen.

Dogs can have a one-track mind and remain focused on one thing until you break the dog out of it. With enough training, your dog should be able to pay more attention to your orders.

Consistency is of the utmost importance when it comes to crate training. As soon as the puppy is out of the crate, let them have an opportunity to go outside and relieve themselves. Eventually, your dog will wait until you let him out of his crate to relive himself.

If you need to approach a dog that you are not familiar with, approach it slowly and allow it to sniff your hand. This gives the dog the opportunity to recognize your scent and start to trust you. Once a dog is used to your scent, it will trust you and obey your orders.

You need to show your dog how to properly walk while on a leash. This will make sure you are both safe when talking walks.

Don't spend too long on a single training your dog session. If you spend a lot of time on only one thing, your dog can get bored and frustrated. Try to keep the initial sessions limited to about 10 minutes.

To get your dog to stop barking, train him to obey a command that tell him to stay quiet. Present the dog with a treat and say the command, stopping only when the dog ceases to bark. When your dog quits barking, offer him the treat. If you do this a lot of times your dog will know if they are not barking they will get a treat.

You need to be very consistent when training your dog. If there are several family members involved in training a dog, ensure each person uses the same techniques and commands. Dogs will learn better and faster if they have a set commands that they need to follow.

Understand that your every action is teaching your dog and shaping his personality. This is important to know, because you might undo certain desired behaviors inadvertently by teasing your dog or engaging in horseplay. You want to constantly be teaching your dog the behavior that you want it to have.
