Good Dog- Bad Dog- The Basics Of Training

If training your dog is something new to you, it may be that you could benefit greatly from some tips and tricks. The article below contains the information that you need to know.

There are several techniques to make crate training your dog easier. If they are hesitant about the crate, you can put a nice chew bone inside and shut the gate while they are not in it. As soon as they smell the tempting treat, they will want to get into the crate to enjoy it. Praise your dog once he gets into the crate.

By giving your dog the proper amount of rewards, you'll have an easier time training. You should immediately reward your dog when they follow your command. Unless you administer praise and treats as soon as the dog exhibits the desired behavior, he will not be able to connect the behavior to the treat.

A dog needs a healthy diet as much as a dog owner does. A dog with an unhealthy diet may manifest several symptoms, including sluggishness and poor behavior. Not only is it unhealthy, it can affect the way they behave. Simply improving their diet may have a bigger impact on how they respond to training.

Give your puppy with lots of chewable toys, otherwise he might alleviate his teething pain on your nice furniture. The right chew toys should be given to the pup immediately. If teething is causing your dog a great of pain, give him a frozen washcloth to chew on and relieve the pain.

You must stay consistent while you are crate training young puppies. The first thing to keep in mind is that you must let him use the bathroom as soon as he's let out. With time, your puppy will wait for the right tine to relieve himself.

If you have to keep your dogs outside, never tie them up too close to one another. It is just too easy for dogs in such a situation to tangle their leads together, and this can lead to serious injuries for both of them. This is especially dangerous if one dog is larger than the other, as it could use its superior size to maneuver the other dog into a dangerous position.

Do not allow your pet to become complacent in his training. Establish a clear set of rules and stick with it at all times. Many owners believe that once training is over, the dog will be set for life. Like their human owners, pets truly are creatures of habit. This shows that you need to do periodic refreshers so that your dog continues to follow the rules.

For a dog to become house trained you should always have them on the same feeding schedule everyday, so their elimination time is always the same. Your dog will adjust to the schedule and he will quickly learn that his outside time is when he should go to the bathroom. Adhering to a schedule also helps the dog learn to wait until the proper time comes to go outside.
