Help Your Dog Get Some Nice Treats!

A dog is like a remote that must be properly programmed to work well with a television. You just need to instill these commands into them like a remote. Dogs aim to please their human companions, which makes them eager to learn new tasks and tricks.

If you want to teach your pet to use a crate, first try these simple tricks. Place a treat inside the crate and shut its gate in front of your dog. The dog will smell the bone and want to go racing into the crate to eat it. Once they enter the crate, be sure to praise them to show that what they did was good.

When tying up your dog, make sure it is not close to another chained dog. If chains get intertwined, the dogs can get hurt. If one dog happens to be much larger than the other, the small dog could get tangled to the point that it could choke to death.

When you are trying to house train your puppy, keep in mind that everything that you put in, will come out. To keep your puppies toiletry habits regular, feed him a high quality food 2-3 times a day at the same time each day. This way, you will have a good idea of when your pup needs to go out, so that there is less of a chance that an accident will occur.

Training your pet to roll over very easy. Just remember to have treats in hand. First, have the dog lay down. Then hold the treat at the side of the dog's head and move it around it's face to the other side. Ideally, your dog will use his nose to follow the treat, rolling his whole body in the process. Upon seeing him roll over, issue the command. You can then repeat the command to the point where he rolls over without the added incentive of a treat. Do not get mad if it takes several tries. Once they learn this particular trick, they will be popular at the dog park!

Your dog needs an hour or more of exercise every day along with any training or bathroom breaks. Keeping a dog healthy with exercise allows for more efficient training sessions in the future. An exercised dog leads to having a responsive and happy dog.

Consistency is the key to training. When everyone is participating in the training progress, you should be sure that each member of the family is applying the same rules and commands. The dog will learn more easily if he learns a single set of commands and if he knows what response will be received for his behavior.

Split treats into bite-sized pieces to keep rewards from affecting your dog's daily diet, weight or overall health. These treats are often ignored when considering calories, and yet they have an impact on the diet and health of your pet.

The first step in leash training your new puppy is by putting a collar on him while you play with him. It is important that your pup gets used to wearing the collar so that it can use a leash correctly and so that it has proper ID tags in case it gets lost.

If you know how to get through to your pet, it is easy to teach them more things down the line. Your dog will love making you happy just as much as you love seeing your dog behave.
