If you plan on using a crate as part of your puppy's training routine, introduce the apparatus and its' functions very gradually. When they seem comfortable in it with the door open, try shutting the gate and feed them treats through the wires. Start off only putting them inside for 10 seconds, and when they seem okay with that, slowly increase the time they are inside. If the dog shows signs of distress, you may be progressing too quickly.

When correcting your dog verbally, use sharp, short, concise commands. Do not rant on at length to your dog telling them how they were bad. Simply tell them no an instead steer them towards what you'd like them to do. Also speak with authority so they understand you mean business.

Timing is important when canine training, so you should spend sufficient time training him but should not overdo it. Begin with small sessions and increase the time daily. Observe when your dog starts to stop paying attention during the session.
