It takes many repetitions before a dog learns a new command. You may need to repeat the command more than 20 or 30 times. Continue trying the same command and be patient, your dog will get it.

If traveling with your dog, be sure to pack all of the things you will need to keep him happy on your travels. Items like water and food bowls, paper towels and bathroom bags are essential to having a relaxing ride. There is no need to bring along the bag of dog food; you can buy some when you reach your destination.
Your canine training program should incorporate at least a little fun. Training sessions should not be any longer than fifteen minutes, so that the dog's attention span doesn't run out before training stops. When you give your dog rewards, make sure they are varied and as often as needed. Give your dog plenty of praise and this will make him happy. If you make training fun, he will enjoy listening, too.
