Try Out These Awesome Puppy Training Tips!

Most dog owners need to spend a lot of time reinforcing positive behaviors in their dog and getting rid of bad behaviors such as chewing or barking. Use the following advice and you will end up with a joyful, well behaved dog.

Try to view things from your dog's perspective. Sometimes a dog will be a slow learner, and this can be frustrating. Rather than giving up completely, you should try seeing things from your dogs perspective. Consider how it would be to see the world in their eyes. Doing this will give you a completely different perspective, which should help you in training them.

Consistency is very important when you are crate training your puppy. When you allow the puppy to come out of the crate, you have to immediately and without fail give him the chance to relieve his bladder. Doing so helps him learn when it is okay to go to the bathroom.

Your dog must respect you in order for training to work. Be friendly with your dog, but also be firm. Never allow your dog pull on the leash while you are on a walk.

When you are in the initial stages of training your puppy, teach him his name first to help create a bond. Use his name as often as possible, and help him learn to come when you call him by it. You should teach your puppy these words first. It's important that the time spent with your puppy is quality time. Spend your time playing with your puppy. This way he will get to know you quicker and will begin to trust you faster. This will make him easier to train later.

Reduce as many accidents as possible when you're toilet training your dog. Be able to tell when your dog has to go out. Pacing, snuffing and whining are common. If you see your dog doing this, take action immediately. Put his leash on and take him to the place you wish him to go. Whenever your dog uses the restroom outside, reward him or her with lots of praise. They will eventually ask to go outside.

Dogs are just like people; they love hearing the sound of their own names and the use of the name will call them to attention. By using it as much as possible during the first weeks you own him, your puppy will learn that this sound is in reference to him. Choose a shorter name that can stand out from other terms.

Though your dog may be seriously misbehaving right now, fear not. Many dogs may be trained with good techniques and some perseverance. Use these tips to get great results out of your dog.
