What You Can Do To Easily Train Your Dog

If you've just started learning about training your dog, you need all the help you can get. These are a few tips for starting out.

Small steps, gentle ways and patience are all a part of getting your puppy used to their crate. If they are uncomfortable with the door closed then try to feed them snacks to reassure them that they are okay. Use small increments of time, and build them up as your puppy or dog becomes more relaxed with the process. If the puppy gets too upset then you increased the time too much, too fast.

Dogs can concentrate on one thing intensely and you will have to learn to break his attention. Your dog can learn to focus less and less, except for your commands, by using repetition.

Do not allow your pet to become complacent in his training. Establish a clear set of rules and stick with it at all times. Pet owners often believe that once their dog completes a training program, the process is over. Some dogs will revert back to negative behaviors if the training does not continue. You must remain strict with your dog.

During the earliest days of training your pet, stick with simple directives. Not only does this give you a feeling of satisfaction in your success, but your dog also learns about what an acceptable behavior is. This ensures your outcome is positive.

Every day, try to allow your pet to have an hour or so of exercise. This is on top of regular training lessons and restroom breaks. Your training will be easier and more effective if your dog gets good daily exercise. An exercised dog is a happy and responsive dog.

Training Sessions

Your training sessions should be very short. Dogs' attentions are very short. Maintaining short training sessions ensures that your dog can remain focused on the task at hand. If you want to train more, make sure to include play breaks for your dog.

When your pet hears you speak the word ‘no', your dog must understand that a response is not expected. When puppy training, you'll have to find a way to give positive reinforcement. Saying the word “no” will not aid in the training of your dog. All dogs are different and will respond to different training.

Positive reinforcement is the preferred training method for dogs. Use a happy tone when you are rewarding your dog; pet him a lot, and give him a little treat once in a while. You should not hit or yell at your dog. Your dog will not respond well to these methods and will not understand what you want them to do. Maintain a calm attitude anytime that your dog does wrong so that you can have a relationship o mutual respect with your dog.

Dog Training

As you can see from the above list of tips, dog training can be very useful in getting your dog to behave and to even do a few cool tricks. After following these tips, you will no longer be new to dog training, instead you will be on your way to becoming a dog training expert.
