Dogs, like TV remote controls, they must be programmed if you want them to work properly. The remote has the capability to work properly, but it needs to be programmed to work with your television. Dogs aim to please their human companions, which makes them eager to learn new tasks and tricks.
Create a calm environment whenever you enter the room the dog is in. Play time is good to have with your pet, however, your dog should remain calm when you enter the room. Avoid acknowledging the dog upon your entry, and you can foster the sort of controlled environment necessary to good behavior.
Stay Calm
Control how much you reward your dog. Reward them only when your dog is calm after it performs a trick. You might be thrilled with that accomplishment, when you are excited, they becomes excited and that cuts down the control in the situation. Stay calm and the dog will stay calm, and you'll be able to reward it.
Crate training requires extreme consistency. Give the puppy consistent opportunities to relieve himself every time you let him out. When done with consistency, your dog will trust you and wait for the right time to relieve himself.
When potty training your pup, remember that whatever he eats must come out. If you want your puppy to relieve himself with regularity, keep the diet regular too, like feeding him good food two or three times daily at consistent intervals. That way, you'll know when you need to take your doggie out to “go”.
Pick the proper size crate for your dog if you want to be able to effectively use the crate to train it. Puppies will grow up quite quickly. Select a crate that is large enough for them to fit in when they are older. The dog will need sufficient room to rest and turn around without feeling cramped.
It's important to avoid inadvertently encouraging inappropriate behavior if you want your dog to learn. In basic terms, this means refusing to reward your dog, via attention or treats, for doing any action that you are trying to get them to stop doing. This includes things like petting them when they jump on you at the door.
Give your dog a regular elimination and feeding schedule, so you can house train them. This will give you an idea of when the dog is likely to have to go, so you can take it outdoors to take care of this matter before an accident occurs on your rug. This schedule also teaches dogs what it means to “hold it”.
Maintain your dog's training throughout its lifetime. Dog training does not stop once your dog is no longer a puppy. By reinforcing good behavior, dog's will become well-behaved.
You can keep a dog from barking by teaching it an order that means they should be silent. The next time your dog barks, let him see a treat and give the order for him to be quiet; repeat this until your dog stops barking. Once your dog has stopped barking, you can award it with a treat. Enough repetitions will result in the dog associating the treat with the command and remaining quiet.
Use the dog's name as much as possible to ensure that it pays attention. By using his name all the time in the first month of having our dog, he should associate his name with focusing on you. Choose a puppy name that sounds differently than other words your puppy may hear throughout the day.
When you help your dog bring out his learning potential, you just have to be consistent in training him. Your dog wants to please you just as much as you like to see him behave well.
