It takes small steps to crate train your puppy; they must become accustomed to it. Once they have grown accustomed to being in the crate with the gate open, try closing the gate and feeding them small treats through the crate. Start small, like at 10 seconds per approach, and then gradually increase the times. If the dog becomes agitated, slow down a little more to make them more comfortable.

Your training sessions must be long enough for your dog to learn the desired behavior but no so long that he becomes bored. Start with a quick session initially, adding time with successive training periods. When your dog loses interest, quit for the day.

Look at it in your dog's point of view. Frustration is easy during training your dog. Don't give up- think like your dog! Your training will improve if you view things the way they do.

When tying up your dog, make sure it is not close to another chained dog. If there chains become entangled with one another it could lead to an injury. Situations like this can cause dogs of various sizes to cause fatal injuries if not properly monitored. Always err on the side of caution.

Always be sure to have a reward or tasty morsel for your dog when he follows a command or learns something new. It is important for the dog to realize when he exhibits the proper behavior in response to your commands. Your dog will become able to realize the difference between what you consider as good and bad behavior.

Your training sessions should be very short. Your dog's memory and attention span is short, keep the training this way. Instead, have multiple, short sessions with breaks for playtime in between.

Primary Reinforcement

Primary reinforcement is the most popular way to train a dog. With primary reinforcement, you use something that your dog loves when it needs to be rewarded for positive behavior. You can use dog treats or a bunch of love to reward your pet. Using this technique will train your dog what you expect from him.

You have to be firm during canine training. Yelling at the dog is counterproductive, and it is necessary to balance strictness in response to misbehavior and love in response to obedience. This fosters a strong relationship between you and your dog.

If you use a leash to train your pet, you must ensure that it remains loose rather than taut. Dogs love exploring when they get to walk. Their eagerness and energy may cause them to pull on the leash. Rather than allowing this behavior to continue, a looser leash walk should be encouraged by the person in control of the animal.

Training isn't as hard as you think! Big improvements can be made by simply adjusting both the person's behavior and the techniques used with the animal.
