Training Your Dog Doesn’t Have To Be Complicated, Try These Simple Ideas!

People often assume that training is impossible. Proper puppy training can seem quite difficult. When training a dog, take the time to boost your knowledge on how to train them properly. Review the piece that follows to get lots of helpful information.

Timing is critical during training your dog, and you must spend sufficient time on training without doing too much. Begin with a short session training and increase the time daily. This will give you a good idea of when to put more effort into your training session.

Make sure that you use control to reward your dog's good training behavior. Giving a reward for an appropriate behavior is correct, but do it quickly and move on. While you may be overjoyed with headway you are making, showing excitement causes the dog to become excited and makes you lose control. Stay calm and the dog will stay calm, and you'll be able to reward it.

Do not tie a dog up near another dog, or dogs. Doing so could cause injuries to the dogs if they become entangled in the chains and attempt to free themselves. A larger dog could cause a tangle so bad that the smaller dog could be choked by the leash.

Pick a recognizable phrase to verbalize to your puppy during house training. Use the same word or phrase each time you bring him out to go to the bathroom so that he understands what you want him to do and makes a memory link between the phrase and the act.

Whenever you're training your dog, be sure and use the same vocal tone when giving commands. This tone tells the dog that you mean business and that they need to obey. You should also work on developing different tones to use in different situations. For example, you can have a sharp one for disciplinary purposes, and a firm, but not-as-sharp one for simple commands.

Do not spend too much time in any one training session with your dog. Remember that a dog has a short attention span and cannot focus on one thing for too long. Early on, your training sessions should be limited to less than 10 minutes.

Primary Reinforcement

Primary reinforcement is key during puppy training. Primary reinforcement is a positive reinforcement training strategy that relies heavily on things your dog already enjoys. Primary reinforcements can include using treats, food or even a good belly rub. Using this technique will train your dog what you expect from him.

Hopefully the knowledge that you gained from this article will be able to help you be more confident in your training your dog. There is a lot more you need to know about training your dog. Do more research and apply the efficient strategies you find to train your dog successfully.
